Mario Game Apps Appearing On Smartphones In China [Lame]

Mario

So it appears that after the Video Game ban in China gets lifted after 14 years, the 1st thing they do is copy Mario and put it on smartphones…wtf. Time to ban video games again in China. you don’t see anyone copy Halo and put it on smartphones, or Uncharted from Sony. Its always only Nintendo games. Seriously IF YOU WANT TO PLAY A NINTENDO GAME YOU BUY A NINTENDO SYSTEM!!!

Nintendo has yet to embrace mobile, but that hasn’t stopped other developers from using Nintendo IP’s in China. A game titled Super Mario is currently available on smartphones in China which is a clone of previous Mario titles. Another title called Super Mario Quiz asks mobile users to take a multiple choice test to identify characters called Baby Donkey Kong and Corporal Paraplonk. Nintendo says its legal team is investigating.

“Misappropriation of intellectual property is hard to prevent in China,” Michael Pachter, an analyst at Wedbush Securities in Los Angeles, said by email. Nintendo “should be exploiting their IP on their own instead of letting others do so.”
