Nintendo Patents New Eye Tracking Device Which Enables 3D On A 2D Display?

Nintendo has filed a new patent that shows an eye tracking device which enables 3D viewing on a normal 2D display. The patent was published today via the USPTO. The patent works by having the user wear special glasses or something along those lines. The user is then tracked by a camera placed above the television. Once the person moves his or her head then the user will view the image displayed on the television screen in 3D. Nothing may come of this, but it’s something to keep an eye on. (Pun intended lol)

Now this to me seems like Nintendo doing a 3D Kinect…and I don’t like that lol. However if their 9th gen console had 3D gaming on a TV with something like this then…hmm, well I don’t know how I feel about it to be honest lol.

Wait…just thought of something…The 3D Metroid on Wii U…with this could work very, very well..

    • I don’t know…I think Metroid (Prime 4) or whatever would work well with this. Or imagine F-Zero in 3D like that? You might get motion sickness from feeling like your flying at 1,000 mph lol.
